Flagship Use Case: Unifying Threat Intelligence with Enterprise Data

Enterprises often maintain Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs) that hold valuable, high-fidelity threat data, but that data typically remains siloed from the rest of the organization's security and business systems. Security analysts are left to manually correlate intelligence against logs, telemetry, and asset data spread across disparate systems, a process that slows investigations and increases the risk of missed signals.

Solution: 

Metron designed and delivered an integration connecting a customer's TIP directly with Databricks, establishing a scalable, governed, real-time bridge between threat intelligence and enterprise data. With Unity Catalog governing access, threat indicators could be correlated against live data within a single environment, rather than assessed as an isolated, disconnected feed.

The security team cut the time between receiving a threat signal and acting on it, gained a single governed environment for cross-referencing intelligence against real data, and built a foundation that scales as both their data volume and threat feeds grow.

4. Governed access and compliance reporting: Using Unity Catalog to enforce access controls and maintain lineage over sensitive security data, giving compliance and audit teams provable, enterprise-wide governance.
