Hi there, and welcome back to MI-One as we kick off Issue #26.

Did you know that CrowdStrike Falcon is no longer just an endpoint security product? Over the past few years, it has evolved into a broader security platform spanning endpoint, identity, cloud, and SIEM, and that changes what a meaningful integration looks like.

Many teams, however, still assume that integrating with CrowdStrike is mostly about forwarding alerts or pulling detection data. We find it is much deeper than that. Today, integrations are expected to support detection, enrichment, and response workflows in real time.

And so, for product managers, security leaders, and technical alliances teams, the real question is:

“What does it actually take to integrate with CrowdStrike today?”

In this issue, we’ll explore how CrowdStrike evolved into a broader platform, how integrations work within its ecosystem, and what product and engineering teams should consider when building alongside it.

Deep Dive: Integrating with CrowdStrike Falcon

In our experience, there are a couple of recurring assumptions that companies have when they begin integrations with CrowdStrike.

One of these assumptions is that integrating with CrowdStrike simply means pulling detections through APIs or forwarding Falcon alerts into a SIEM. 

Another assumption is that CrowdStrike’s Next-Gen SIEM is simply another destination to forward logs, similar to traditional SIEM platforms.

While consuming alerts or forwarding logs may seem like the natural approach, a more effective way to think about Falcon is a platform where detection, investigation, and response are executed, and not just generated. Integrations are an extension of this platform, interacting across multiple components, including:

• Falcon APIs for detections, devices, incidents, and response actions

• Falcon Fusion for orchestration and automated workflows

• Falcon Foundry for building apps and extending analyst workflows inside the platform

• Falcon LogScale (Next-Gen SIEM) for ingesting and analyzing third-party telemetry

The best integrations either act on Falcon data via APIs, extend workflows inside Falcon, or bring external data into Falcon’s Next-Gen SIEM using the CrowdStrike Parsing Standard (CPS)

This shifts the design question from: “What alerts can we pull from CrowdStrike?” to: “How can your product enrich investigations and extend workflows across the Falcon platform?”

To make this more concrete, let’s walk through a real integration example.

Featured Integration: CrowdStrike Falcon Fusion SOAR Connector + AIOps

In this integration, CrowdStrike Falcon Fusion acts as the orchestration and response layer, while an AIOps platform provides operational data from infrastructure, applications, and services.

AIOps platforms generate signals across environments. This data can be ingested into Falcon Fusion using APIs, event streams, or connector-based integrations, depending on the deployment architecture.

In most implementations, AIOps signals are structured before ingestion to ensure they can be used effectively within Falcon workflows. These signals may include metadata such as affected hosts, services, timestamps, and severity, which can be mapped to Falcon entities like devices and processes.

Once ingested, this operational data can be correlated with Falcon detections, and Falcon Fusion workflows can then use this combined context to trigger automated actions or investigation steps.

The value of this integration is straightforward:

• Operational anomalies are correlated with security detections for improved triage

• Infrastructure context enriches endpoint investigations

• Automated workflows enable faster response across security and operations signals

To understand why this works, it helps to look at how Falcon evolved into its present state.

Platform Evolution: CrowdStrike

Fun Fact: Did you know Falcon was designed cloud-first before “cloud security” was mainstream?

When Falcon launched, most security tools were still on-prem and signature-based. CrowdStrike introduced a lightweight agent with centralized cloud analytics, a model that later became the foundation for modern EDR and XDR platforms.

Today, the Falcon platform brings together endpoint detection and response (EDR & NGAV), identity protection, cloud security, threat intelligence, log management (LogScale), and workflow automation through Falcon Fusion.

This shift is why certain integrations are becoming more common across Falcon.

Tips & Tricks: Building CrowdStrike Integrations 

• Use a combination of Detection, Incident, and Device APIs; relying on /alerts alone won’t give you a full investigation context

• Combine the Falcon Streaming API with standard APIs to enable real-time workflows instead of relying only on polling

• Leverage Real Time Response (RTR) to execute remediation actions such as scripts, containment, and triage directly from your integration

• Trigger Falcon Fusion workflows wherever possible instead of building orchestration logic externally

• Ingest external telemetry into Falcon LogScale using CPS (CrowdStrike Parsing Standard); unstructured data will not be usable within the platform

These are foundational, but the bigger shifts are coming from how the Falcon platform itself is evolving.

What's New CrowdStrike?

CrowdStrike introduced the Charlotte AI AgentWorks ecosystem to enable AI-driven security workflows within the Falcon platform. Key highlights of this update include:

• Support for building and deploying AI agents that assist in investigation, enrichment, and response workflows

• Integration with Falcon telemetry and detections to allow agents to analyze alerts and recommend or execute actions

• Orchestration through Falcon Fusion, enabling agents to trigger automated playbooks and workflows across tools

CrowdStrike introduces Falcon Data Security to stop data theft across the agentic enterprise. Key highlights of this update include:

• Monitoring of data access, movement, and exfiltration across endpoints and cloud workloads

• Correlation of data activity with Falcon detections to enable context-aware risk visibility and insider threat detection

• Integration with response capabilities to support automated actions such as containment and access restriction

CrowdStrike expanded Falcon Identity Protection with FalconID, introducing risk-aware MFA capabilities within the Falcon platform. Key highlights of this update include:

• Implementation of phishing-resistant MFA integrated with Falcon identity and device context

• Use of real-time signals to enable adaptive authentication and conditional access decisions

• Correlation of identity and endpoint telemetry to improve identity-based threat detection and response.

These updates point to a broader industry shift. Let’s explore one of the clearest trends emerging today.

Industry Shift: AI Security as a Platform Category

AI is no longer just a feature in security platforms; it is becoming a new security domain that requires dedicated controls and visibility.

As organizations adopt AI-driven applications and autonomous workflows, the attack surface is expanding to include AI models, agents, and data flows. Security teams now need visibility into how AI systems behave, how they access data, and how they can be misused.

At RSAC 2026, this shift was clearly reflected across multiple announcements. CrowdStrike introduced the Charlotte AI AgentWorks ecosystem and Falcon Data Security to support AI-driven workflows and data protection. Saviynt launched Identity Security for AI to manage access and governance for AI systems, while Check Point introduced its AI Defense Plane to secure AI usage, applications, and agents at runtime. Darktrace also unveiled Adaptive Human Defense, using behavioral AI to guide user behavior in real time.

For vendors, this changes the integration approach. The focus has now shifted toward visibility into AI-driven workflows and agent activity, data protection across AI systems, and Identity and access control for AI and non-human entities.
